A
second wedding will usually include more than just the uniting of two.
Many couples marrying for the second time decide to keep their wedding
small and intimate; especially if there are hard feelings between the
families at all, especially when involving kids.
Children are often
involved in the ceremonies. This gives them a better understanding of
what their new family is all about, and that you haven’t forgotten
them at all in your new relationship. New symbolic elements are commonly
added such as family medallions or rings, and unity candles with
multiple tapers.
If
you or your spouse do have kids from a previous marriage, you may want
to change or add to certain vows or traditions as well. Such as a vow
from the children’s new step parent that he/she will be there for them
also. Older boys sometimes walk their Mother down the isle, or sons and
daughters over the age of 12 will be bridesmaids or groomsmen
