Enjoy your wedding day

Wedding day jitters are common for the bride and groom. The bride will worry about the details of the ceremony, the reception, and how she looks. The groom may be anxious for any number of reasons, including thoughts of his bride's timely arrival at the altar.

Here are some ideas to help you both relax and enjoy this most special day...

If you are having a destination wedding, make sure you arrive at the destination the day before so that you are not rushing around on your wedding day. Plan to pamper yourself from the moment you arrive. The groom can spend the day golfing while the bride relaxes poolside. Plan to have a nice breakfast together on your wedding-morning. Share your wedding day plans so that you know what the other is doing in case you need to touch base throughout the day.

Book a massage or facial at a local dayspa for early in the day. It will guarantee you're relaxed and rejuvenated before any of the events start.

When placing your reservation, ask if they can recommend a local stylist and have them on-site at least 4 hours before the ceremony. Offer their services to your attendants, but schedule your appointment last - about an hour before the ceremony.

Make sure you have an emergency wedding day survival kit with these critical little lifesavers: toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, mints, pain reliever, antacid, hand lotion, emery board, clear nail polish, facial tissues, bandaids, hair brush & spray, bobby pins, lint remover, stain remover, sewing kit, safety pins, super glue, double sided tape, earring backs, deodorant and a hand mirror.

Eat a healthy breakfast. The day is a busy one, full of activity, and a good dose of nourishment early on will not only get you moving, but keep your energy levels where they need to be.

Keep your perspective. Going from single to married undoubtedly causes a wee bit of panic, jitters, and thoughts of 'what have I done?' in all of us. Don't panic. This is completely normal. Take your time and don't forget to breathe deeply.

If your wedding is to be held at another location, hire a limo to transport you to the site. Have the chauffeur stock the bar with your favorite drinks and a light snack (caviar, shrimp, cheese, cashews...) to enjoy during the ride while listening to your favorite music.

While you are getting ready, allow only those who are near and dear to be in the room. You will not be pleased to hear comments and suggestions from those who know very little about you. If someone makes you tense, ask them politely to leave as 'you must get ready.' Don't feel bad for putting the 'do not disturb' sign on the door.

Delegate, delegate delegate!! Leave last minute details to someone you can rely on. Give them a list with every last thing you can possibly think of, and then erase them from your mind so that you can enjoy the day!
