Valentine's Day
In
exchange for your invitations, make them look as though they were
Valentine cards instead. Serve
your guests heart shaped cakes, candies, cookies, etc., and a rich
meal by candle light. Place a bottle of wine on each table with ice
buckets and glasses. Decorate with deep dark red, mauve, or light pink
colored flowers and candles, adding a very romantic effect to your
ceremony. Give your
guests candy red hots as favors, or small bottles of massage oil.
Easter
Choose
to wear a light and airy flowing dress in pure white or a pastel
color. Serve your guests lamb or fish with a nice white wine, and
chocolate bunnies for desert. After hiding colored eggs around the
reception area, hand each of your guests their own basket filled with
grass and send them off on an Easter egg hunt.
New Year's/Fourth of July
What
better way to show your patriotism than to theme your wedding with
red, white, and blue? Decorate with appropriate colored candles,
flowers, streamers, and small flags. Feed your guests all American
apple pie and serve barbequed food fresh from the grill. Dress the
groomsman in dark blue, the bridesmaids in deep red, and both the
bride and groom in pure white. Hand your guests sparklers and small
fireworks instead of rice, and send them off with an American flag.
Thanksgiving
Serve
your guests the perfect holiday meal, complete with turkey, mashed
potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and steamed vegetables. Dress
everyone up as Pilgrims and/or Native Americans for added excitement.
Decorate with corn stalks, pumpkins, and brightly colored candles.
Send your guests off with a beaded necklace, a small mandella, a
dreamcatcher, or another traditional gift commonly given by Native
Americans.
Christmas
Serve
your guests turkey, ham, cranberries, sugar cookies, and a rich red
wine. Decorate with holly berries, silver bells, red and white
flowers, and strings of lights. Dress your bridesmaids in dark green
or red velvet dresses. Ride away in a horsedrawn sleigh and have your
guests sing carols. Use birdseed for confetti.
Halloween
Have
everyone dress in their own unique costumes. Decorate with fake spider
webs, jack-o-lanterns, scarecrows, and play ghoulish music in the
background. Serve your guests soup from a Witch’s brew pot,
Halloween candy, pumpkin pie, spaghetti shaped as a brain, and so on.
Use dried pumpkin seeds as confetti.
